Home-made cakes help EPX raise £700

for cancer charity

The Mayor and Mayoress of Stafford and the town's MP were among visitors who enjoyed home-baked cakes served up at a local IT solutions and services company to raise money for a worthy cause.

The event at the Stafford headquarters of EPX Technical Services raised a total of £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support, with the sale of the cakes and donations on the day raising nearly £500 and the company making up the difference.

EPX and its sister company, Offsight, employ 26 people between them, and everyone got behind the fundraiser that was staged as part of Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning campaign.

EPX Director Mark Pennington commented: "It was fantastic to see such support from colleagues, their families, customers and suppliers for a charity that means so much to so many people.

"I would also like to thank the Mayor, Cllr Geoff Collier and Jeremy Lefroy MP for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit our offices and join us for coffee and cake!"

Amongst the tasty treats on offer during the day were a sumptuous red velvet cake and Mark's own scrumptious Malteser cake.

His fellow director, Dan Ellis, added: "All the cakes certainly went down a treat and it was great to get involved with such a worthy cause. Many people here at EPX know someone who has, or have themselves, been affected by cancer, which is why so many of us wanted to get behind the Macmillan campaign."
