ATLAS PACKAGING JOIN FORCES WITH NORTH DEVON HOSPICE

North Devon-based Atlas Packaging has accepted its first official challenge, in preparation for the Mission:Unbreakable event in aid of North Devon Hospice.

The challenge involves the packaging specialist creatinging a scaled version of a World War Two tank out of corrugated cardboard, complete with the tank shell and a fully equipped gun on top. The impressive structure will be unveiled at the Mission Unbreakable event, which will take place on 16th October 2016.

Mission:Unbreakable is a specially designed outdoor challenge, that will see participants battle through a 10km course of fields, rivers and forests in a mud run, tougher than ever before. Beginning and ending at North Molton Sports Club, money will be raised for North Devon Hospice, a local charity caring for those affected by life-threatening illness.

Challenge Atlas is part of a wider campaign run by Atlas Packaging, which is run on social media via the #ChallengeAtlas hashtag. Launched in July, the campaign challenges the packaging experts to prove their claim: that it is possible to create anything using corrugated cardboard.

Jason Sharman, Managing Director at Atlas Packaging commented “As one of the leading packaging companies in the UK, we truly believe that it is possible to create anything using corrugated cardboard - in the past we’ve made dinosaurs, musical instruments and shop front mannequins  - even some of our reception furniture is made from cardboard.

“North Devon Hospice is a charity close to our hearts and we were proud to be asked to make something for the event. Our battle tank will be very impressive and will fit in with the event’s combat theme and ethos of strength and power ”

Stephen Roberts, Chief Executive at North Devon Hospice has said “ We are excited about the Mission:Unbreakable event that will see participants concur North Devon’s toughest mud run yet! Led by 2 4 Commando Regiment from Chivenor, we know this will be the most gruelling event to date.

“We challenged Atlas Packaging to create a scale model of a military tank and can’t believe they accepted - we are very excited to see it completed on the day.”
