Claire Murdoch, Chief Executive, said: "Mental illness is non-discriminating; it really can affect anyone. It's the largest segment of all illnesses in England yet still attracts the least understanding and the most discrimination.

"Suicide prevention campaigns encourage people to speak up about their pain; World Mental Health Day reminds us all to listen.

"Treatments are very effective and there's so much self-help out there too. Talking Therapies are very effective for many problems - mental and physical. So we're inviting people to try a therapy out for themselves. It will change your thinking; it may change your life."
