NEWS RELEASE: Local Firm Steps It Up with Virtual Walk Across Britain
Local
solicitors’ firm steps it up this September with virtual walk across Britain
Tayside solicitors and estate
agents firm Miller Hendry will spend the month of September walking the length
of Britain... virtually, that is.
Teams from Miller Hendry’s
offices in Crieff and Dundee are taking part in a challenge to run or walk the
same distance as John O’Groats to Land’s End as part of The ARCHIE Foundation’s
Virtual Challenge, which runs throughout the month of September. Money raised through
sponsorship will go towards the Foundation and its programme of funding
children’s hospitals in Tayside, Aberdeen and Inverness.
With Fitbits and pedometers at
the ready, the two Miller Hendry teams of five are amping up the challenge by
competing against each other. The first team to complete the 962 miles wins.
With three offices in Dundee,
Perth and Crieff, Miller Hendry prides itself its charity and community
initiatives. Julie Darroch, associate with Miller Hendry’s Crieff office, said the
Virtual Challenge was a way to not only raise funds for something local, but also
to involve employees of all ages and abilities.
“Miller Hendry is always looking
for ways to support local charities and the fact that The ARCHIE Foundation
raises money locally for Tayside Children’s Hospital was a plus. But we were also
looking for something we could get people of all ages and abilities involved
in. You don’t have to be able to go up a craggy cliff, you can do it while
walking to work and around the office.
“Nobody’s standing still right now at Miller Hendry, especially with
the challenge we’ve laid down to the two offices. A bit of healthy competition is spurring us
on to clock up even more miles."
Sick children’s charity The
Archie Foundation provides equipment, staff training and family support for in
the north of Scotland.
