PR: Arrow Digital installs the first MTEX Blue textile printer in India

Arrow Digital installs the first MTEX Blue digital textile printer at Welpac Pvt Ltd.

The MTEX Blue is all-in-one soft signage printer which is an ideal turnkey solution for producing flags, banners, graphic displays, interiors, soft furnishings and point of purchase displays.

Mr. Samir Patel, CEO and Managing Director, Arrow Digital says, "The MTEX Blue is a four colour roll-to-roll printer aimed at companies wishing to enter the digital textile print market. It is equipped with Panasonic print heads, with speeds up to 55 m2/hr for a completely finished fabric and built-in heat fixation."

Mr. Mayoor Kurva, Managing Director, Welpac Pvt. says "We bought the MTEX Blue as we wanted to diversify into Soft Signage. This printer offers us a true direct-to-fabric disperse dye-sub inkjet printing solution with no compromise to the integrity of the material after continuous use."

With disperse dyes inks, the image is essentially ‘bonded' into the fibers through the inbuilt heat fixation/polymerization process, which is designed to use minimal power and also is equipped to extract vapors to reduce ghosting; it is a concealed unit and very safe to handle; once the fabric is cured, it can be washed, folded, handled and re-washed if needed, with absolutely no degradation of the image.

Bruising, marking, creasing and cracking are eliminated completely due to the image becoming part of the fabric as opposed to sitting on top of it, as with other print processes. The MTEX Blue offers superb quality at great speeds with punchy, vibrant colors and in-line fixation. One can also print onto heat transfer paper for calendaring offline with the same ink on the same printer.

Mr Kurva continues, "We looked at many printers and considered different options, including going straight to 3.2 meter; but as 80% of our market is 1.8 meter or less we chose to start with the MTEX Blue, the inline polymerization is fantastic. We conducted extensive trials and sampling at the Arrow demo centre and compared these with other platforms and the MTEX Blue came out on top each time. We have a long standing relationship with Arrow, so we know we are in the right hands; training, service or help is just a phone call away."

Welpac Pvt will be producing display graphics, soft signage and contract interiors. They were one of the pioneers in wide format digital print in the south and they believe in offering choice to their customers by way of offering a range of print technologies including UV, EcoSolvent, finishing solutions and now digitally printed textiles.

"We see tremendous opportunities with this printer and with Arrow's help in stocking the best fabrics, we will be focused on converting a good majority of our clients to digital textiles; we have already shown samples to some clients and they love the concept and colours. We are proud to be pioneers in India again with digital textile printing," Mr Kurva concluded.
