Handicare makes special donation to Sue Ryder Hospice in Leeds

Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice receives special donation

Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospicehas received a special delivery from Handicare in Guiseley, Leeds who sell daily living aids including bespoke seating, bathing equipment and stairlifts to help people with decreased mobility.

The specialist seating is designed to give patients maximum comfort and support and helps improve their quality of life.

Handicare director Clare Brophy said: "We know the team at Wheatfields do a fantastic job and we're delighted to help them with this donation which we hope will make a difference for visitors, residents and carers at the hospice.''

This generous contribution was gratefully received by Kate Eagle, Therapy Team Leader, at Wheatfield's Hospice who expressed her gratitude: "The donation is really appreciated. The chairs will help the patients immensely; particularly those with difficulty sitting as they give postural support. This means that the patients are able to get out of bed and be more independent, whilst improving their overall wellbeing.''

Along with three chairs, two sofas have also been donated and will be used in the public areas of the hospice for patients and their families.

Our patients, their families and our staff are very grateful for the support given from companies like Handicare.
