Vaudeville Show hits the spot!

VaudevilleShow hits the spot!

"Best show yet", "I was blown away" and "Enjoyed every cracking minute" - these are just a few of the comments received from the audience following the hilarious Vaudeville Variety Show, which returned to Lymm at the weekend.

Yes, the Lymm Festival got off to a fantastic start as audiences packed into the summer marquee at Lymm Rugby Club to enjoy outstanding performances of singing, dancing and laugh-out-loud comedy sketches.

Highlights included an extraordinary rendition of ‘Wilkommen' by Keith Broadbent to open the show, an amazing performance of the late, great Victoria Wood's ‘Let's do it' by Sara Worton and Brian Hope and the O-Lymm-pian Synchronised Swimming Team for the finale.

Simon Plumb, MD of the SPA Group and producer of the Vaudeville Variety Show said:

"If there was any way we could bottle the feeling this show gave everyone, both those who perform in it and watch as part of the audience, we'd all be millionaires!

"The audience was buzzing - everyone was in stitches! The atmosphere it generated is special - that's the only word I can use to describe it. It is a wonderful experience to perform in front of such a happy, appreciative audience and we feel privileged to have the opportunity. It was like performing in front of a huge family of friends, gathered together to have a great time.

"We are well known for our annual Christmas Lymm Panto which everyone loves, but this summer event is a relatively new and additional show to raise money for the Lymm Grass Roots Clubhouse Appeal, so we can build a new, much-needed clubhouse. This is all about placing Lymm RFC at the centre of the sporting and social community of Lymm.

"The songs, comedy sketches and dance routines are the result of a great deal of hard work and experience but, as a producer, you never know if it will all come together and work. Well, it did - spectacularly - and I'm grateful to the cast for delivering such a wonderful show, and to our loyal and growing audience for going bananas throughout.

"Thank you all very much, long may it continue and that you continue to support Lymm Rugby Club, in whatever capacity, for years to come. This is how a community works together to produce something very special."
