New Parenting & Education Book Out Next Week by Cornish Author - BEING ME

ADVANCE INFORMATION SHEET

Being Me (And Loving it) - a book for parents & educators of 5-11 year olds is due for release on April 21st 2016

The authors, ‘The Kids Coach' Naomi Richards (London) and Julia Hague (Launceston, Cornwall), are available for editorial commissions and interviews over the next fortnight regarding the importance of building your child's self-esteem, managing social media and relationships with your children, inspiring confidence in body image and building solid friendships, while tackling bullying (including why some children become the bully).

'A treasure trove of stories for opening up discussions with 5 to 11 year olds about a wide range of issues which may be troubling them. These accessibly short stories about kids "just like me" are a great resource for teachers and parents alike and are enhanced by guidance notes and questions for exploration for supporting adults. I'll be keeping my copy close to hand and sharing it widely.' - Dr Pooky Knightsmith, Child & Adolescent Mental health Specialist and Advisor to the PSHE Association

‘Being Me (And Loving it)' is an essential educational read that gives parents, teachers and care givers the confidence and tools they need to inspire strong self-esteem in their children.

--Social Media, Body Image, Self-Esteem, Friendships & Bullying--

With 29 real life and relatable stories at its heart, this practical resource is designed to help build self-esteem and confidence in children aged 5-11. Each story covers common issues that affect children such as a lack of body confidence, peer pressure, bullying, friendships groups and worries about puberty. Designed with parents and educators in mind, each story starts with guidance on how to introduce the topic and what the children will learn from it. There is a range of activities for children to engage in that will reinforce the primary messages being taught.

‘Being Me (And Loving It)' is designed as a dynamic, multifaceted resource to be used with groups of children in PSHE lessons, one-to-one settings or at home. This book is a practical and powerful resource for parents, teachers, school counsellors, therapists and youth workers.
