Yorkshire farm machinery business's growth leads to recruitment

Growing sales at an East Yorkshire farm machinery importer has led to recruitment.

Sancton based Manterra Ltd. has recruited Beverley woman, Ellie Jackson to the new position of Social Media Administrator and has taken on Manchester University undergraduate, Robert Willcocks on secondment to the Tru-Nject project.

30 year old Ellie is involved with all elements of Manterra's marketing and social media administration functions, whilst 20 year old Robert is responsible forcollating and analysing data on crop variabilities.

Manterra founder, farmer and agronomist Andrew Manfield said: "Since Manterra was appointed the sole UK distributor for Unia Group Limited and an authorised reseller for Trimble, things have been extremely busy, so Ellie's contribution to the team is very valuable.

Mr. Manfield continued: "The Tru-Nject initiative is also gaining considerable momentum and Robert's contributionis much appreciated."

Tru-Nject is a research project between Manterra Ltd, Selby based Stockbridge Technology Centre and Cranfield University that has secured Innovate UK funding for a three year trial to commercialise innovative precision farming technology.

Robert is a farmer's son from South East Cornwall and, when he's not busy on the farm, he enjoys kayaking, walking and climbing.

Outside of work, Ellie enjoysriding her horse and watching rugby.

The new appointments takes the number of employees at the farm based business to seven.

Manterra was established by farmer and agronomist, Andrew Manfield in 2011 and has its foundations in a farming business that was established at the beginning of the last century. Manterra is also an authorised reseller for Trimble precision agriculture products and Duport spoke wheel injectors. In addition, Manterra is the key technology supplier to the Stockbridge Technology Centre's SATS4CROPS initiative.
