Stewart opens doors to media with press open day

Stewart, the British manufacturer and distributor of gardening products, catering supplies and homewares, is opening its doors to the media on 16 March 2016. The press open day, at the company’s state-of-the-art Banbury headquarters, will take place from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.

The event will give journalists the opportunity to tour Stewart’s production and distribution facilities, visit the recently completed showroom and ask directors about the company’s ambitious plans for 2016. Andy Burns, managing director of Stewart, will be available for interview by prior appointment.

Speaking about the press day, Andy said: “Since moving to Banbury, Stewart has truly excelled. The manufacturing capabilities at our headquarters have been instrumental in this. 2016 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for us and we’re eager to share it with the media. There are many developments that we’ve got in the pipeline that we want to give the press a snippet of.”

Established over 70 years ago by WWII Spitfire pilot Charles Dugan-Chapman, Stewart is now in its third year in Banbury. The move to the purpose designed 178,000 square foot facility from Croydon, south London followed a £17 million investor buyout in 2012, supported by ECI Partners.

The new premises – and the increased manufacturing capacity it affords - helped Stewart grow by 25 per cent in its last financial year.
